Description

On qemux86 at least, Preware 2 does not download feeds. Pertinent log data is attached for a launch of Preware 2 with all feeds enabled. After this run, there are still zero files in /media/cryptofs/apps/var/lib/opkg/cache. My suspicion is that this is due to Preware 2's hard-coded paths which use "ipkg" instead of "opkg" in luna_methods.c.

Downloaded the latest nightly and tested this. It still does not work, but at least we're closer. I've attached the pertinent part of a log from running a feed update with all feeds enabled.

This might be a more generic issue on VirtualBox. I know those feeds DO return info on an actual device. I'll have a look later to see if I can figure out what might be causing this. It seems almost that Preware doesn't have an internet connection somehow....

I had not done much which required internet access, but in testing your hypothesis it appears that with the host connected to either of two WiFi networks I've tried, DNS does not seem to work within LuneOS. So I think you may be right.

Even with manually patching up /etc/resolv.conf to point to 8.8.8.8, which does result in the Browser app being able to load web pages, Preware 2 still fails to load feeds in qemux86. I don't see any difference in the logged messages from the last log I attached.

I can verify that I can run the cURL command in the terminal from within the cache directory and download a feed, so at least the download itself should work. But if I try to update the feeds from Preware 2, I still do not get any files in the cache directory.

This seems OK on emulator for me. Only problem is that Preware 2 doesn't behave in landscape on emulator. When I rotate screen, F6-F9 it works fine.
